Nyamasheke Kanyege - Rwanda
Coming from the mountainous western region of Rwanda, this coffee is one of the few honey process coffees we’ve featured. Instead of traditional wet/dry process coffees where the coffee fruit is removed before drying the bean, honey process coffees are dried with the fruit attached to the bean. The fruit ferments and dries in the sun and usually imparts a sweet, fruity taste to the final product. Growing altitudes range from 1900-2000 meters above sea level. Tasting notes include sweet honey and caramel notes, followed by bright floral notes of lemongrass and black teas.
